Job Summary
Oversee and manage daily construction operations across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and compliance with quality and safety standards. Lead project teams and coordinate with stakeholders to optimize resources and resolve operational challenges.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily construction operations across multiple projects to ensure smooth execution aligned with project plans
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project schedules, manpower allocation, resources, and site activities to meet deadlines and budget targets
• Ensure projects comply with approved specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to communicate project progress and resolve technical and operational issues
• Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, procurement activities, and resource planning to optimize financial and operational performance
• Oversee procurement planning, subcontractor performance, manpower deployment, and resource utilization across projects
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Coordinators to achieve project objectives
• Ensure compliance with BCA requirements, Workplace Safety and Health regulations, and company policies through regular audits and enforcement
• Conduct and lead project, site, coordination, and management meetings to align teams and stakeholders on project status and issues
• Identify project, operational, commercial, and site risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact
• Improve operational workflows, productivity, resource utilization, and cost efficiency across all projects
• Monitor project KPIs related to performance, productivity, cost, quality, and schedule; prepare and present regular operational reports to Management
• Conduct project reviews to maintain consistent operational standards, procedures, controls, and best practices across sites
• Review project documentation including reports, progress claims, variation orders, cost reports, and schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage overall project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution to meet project goals
• Resolve major project issues, contractual matters, client concerns, site problems, and operational escalations promptly and effectively
• Maintain construction quality standards and coordinate corrective actions for quality, workmanship, and operational issues
• Coordinate construction activities with project teams to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project requirements for works, materials, and services
• Support tender evaluation, project feasibility reviews, construction methodology, resource planning, and project handover processes as needed
• Oversee project completion activities including inspections, testing, handover, defect rectification, and close-out documentation
• Maintain proper documentation, reporting, and record keeping across all projects for transparency and audit purposes
• Provide guidance, direction, and support to project teams to overcome operational and technical challenges
• Undertake additional duties assigned by Management as required
Preferred competencies and qualifications
• Experience in managerial, operations management, or senior project management roles within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, planning, scheduling, and site operations
• Good working knowledge of Singapore BCA requirements, Workplace Safety and Health regulations, and relevant statutory/authority requirements
• Understanding of project costing, budgeting, progress claims, variation orders, procurement, contracts, and subcontractor management
• Experience in manpower planning, resource allocation, procurement planning, and subcontractor management
• Strong leadership and people management skills to lead multidisciplinary project teams effectively
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously with strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning/scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, project schedules, technical documentation, and project reports
• Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel between multiple project sites and attend to urgent site matters or emergency calls outside normal office hours
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines
• Availability for a 6-day work week
