Associate

Responsibilities • Conduct fundamental and quantitative analysis & research in aproprietary trading oil team. • Work directly with team of Associates, Analysts, Traders, and Quantitative Developers to identify commercially relevant projects. • Leverage fundamental data relating to the global oil market to build forecasting models. • Conduct fundamental research and analysis into oil markets, providing timely and accurate data to team members. • Pursue new sources of data and data processing techniques. • Assist in the research and development of trading strategies. • Develop fit-for-purpose Python tools to help advance the desk’s analytical capabilities. Qualifications and Requirements • Excellent understanding of mathematics, statistics, and probability • Excellent Python coding ability, both for data analysis and model/tool building. Expertise in object-oriented programming. • Industry experience working in financial services (internship or full-time) in a quantitative, market-facing role. • Outstanding academic attainment at world-class institution(s), with a minimum of Master’s in a STEM discipline. • Basic understanding on commodity and/or financial markets • Excellent research skills and tenacity to discover new ideas • Intellectual curiosity. A strong desire and aptitude to learn and share ideas and knowledge with colleagues. • Strong communication skills and professional fluency in English • Willingness to work full-time in office due to role requirements
