Technical Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB WSP is looking for a Technical Officer. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES · Study and familiarize with the whole development’s organization, Site conditions, Conditions of Contract, Civil/ Structural Specification and Drawings, as well as Architectural, M&E, and Specialist Shop drawings. · Supervise/ monitor the contractors’ work to ensure that the work is carried out in compliance with the design intent, specification and quality of works required under the terms of the contract. · Maintain a Site Diary of events and daily surveillance. · Attend site progress meetings/ technical meetings/ consultants’ meetings. · Keep a close check of the Contractors’ installation details of item, which require specific compliance to code of practice/ manufacturer’s installation instructions. · Ensure timely submissions of shop drawings, technical submittals, samples, etc. by the Contractors. · Check and review all workshop drawings, technical submittals, and samples, etc. submitted by the contractors. · Monitor the progress of work on site, verify the Contractors’ progress report and present the report to the PM in such format that the progress payment claim by the Contractor can be easily evaluated. QUALIFICATIONS · A level/ Diploma in engineering discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience in site supervision for any civil engineering work or 1 year of relevant experience in site supervision work associated with water mains/ pipelines projects. · Good technical report writing skills · Good interpersonal skill and able to build good rapport with external clients
