ASSISTANT MANAGER (EVENTS)

ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for an Assistant Events Manager who is ready to personally own a portfolio of government and institutional accounts, not just execute against a brief. In this role, you will hold end-to-end accountability for account retention, tender wins, and the output of the Events Executives under your portfolio, while partnering directly with the Director of Events on commercial growth. This is not a back-office management role. You will remain hands-on in the critical details while carrying real ownership for the outcomes of every account and project in your portfolio and your bonus will be measured directly against them. If you can point to a specific account or tender where your ownership changed the outcome, and you want a platform where that ownership is recognised and rewarded, you belong here. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Own Account Outcomes: Take full accountability for major client relationships end-to-end, translating complex government and commercial objectives into sound event solutions, not just maintaining the relationship. • Drive Tender & Growth Partnership: Partner directly with the Director of Events and Senior Manager of Business Development on strategic pitches, and tender submissions that secure our project pipeline. • Deliver Uncompromising Standards: Take responsibility for the outcome of every medium to large-scale conference or corporate event you run, not merely overseeing that moving parts occur, but ensuring the standard is met. • Build Team Capability: Coach and calibrate Events Executives, creating a culture where proactive problem-solving is expected, not compliance with steps alone. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Proven Account Ownership: Solid, proven experience managing large-scale conferences, corporate events, or government MICE projects with end-to-end accountability. • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, negotiate vendor terms, and structure competitive proposals. • Decisive Leadership: A calm, authoritative presence under pressure. When plans shift or issues arise, you are the steady anchor the team relies on. • Process Discipline: A firm belief that creativity thrives inside robust operational structures and strict SOPs. • Strong Communication: Exceptional English command for drafting high-level government proposals and engaging senior stakeholders. WHAT WE OFFER • Monthly Salary: From SGD $4,300–$4,600, commensurate with experience and leadership capability. • Proof-Gated Growth: Candidates who demonstrate independent account ownership and Events Manager-level capability may be considered up to $4,800. Title and compensation reviewed after a 6-month calibration period, based on what you deliver, not time served. • Performance-Linked Bonus: Following calibration, a bonus structure tied to new client acquisition and/or group delivery bonus – a direct impact to you as the company scales. • Annual Leave: 14 days, in addition to public holidays. • Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 10.00am to 6.00pm. Weekend, public holiday, or extended hours apply only during event activations or peak project periods, with Off-in-Lieu provided for qualifying activations. • Staff Welfare: Taxi fares to and from event venues for early starts and late finishes, covered transport for urgent delivery runs, and dinner allowances for late overtime, ensuring event days never cost you out of pocket. HOW TO APPLY • Interested applicants are invited to send a copy of their resume, together with a brief cover note, to jobs@purpleforest.com.sg . • As part of your application, describe a specific account or project where you made an independent call under pressure, without waiting for sign-off, and what the outcome was. • Please include your full name, contact number, email address, nationality, education qualifications, employment history, reasons for leaving your last job, earliest available start date, and expected salary.
