Supervisor

We are looking for a responsible, hands-on and customer-focused Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the café and supervise the service team. The Café Supervisor will ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintain food and beverage quality, manage staff, provide excellent customer service and support the café in achieving its sales targets. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Café Operations • Oversee the daily opening and closing operations of the café. • Ensure the café is clean, organised and properly prepared for service. • Monitor service flow and ensure efficient operations during peak periods. • Ensure company SOPs and operational procedures are followed. • Handle day-to-day operational issues and escalate major matters to management. 2. Staff Supervision • Supervise waiters, service crew, baristas, kitchen assistants and other café staff. • Allocate daily duties and prepare staff schedules where required. • Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate promotions, reservations and operational matters. • Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming and performance. • Train new employees on service standards and café procedures. • Motivate the team and maintain good workplace discipline. 3. Customer Service • Welcome customers and ensure a friendly and professional dining experience. • Handle customer enquiries, requests and feedback. • Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly. • Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction. • Build good relationships with regular customers. 4. Food & Beverage Operations • Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages. • Coordinate with kitchen and beverage preparation staff to ensure orders are served accurately and on time. • Ensure proper handling and storage of food and beverages. • Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of food preparation and service areas. • Assist with preparation and service during busy periods when required. 5. Sales & Business Performance • Support the café in achieving daily and monthly sales targets. • Promote menu items, beverages, promotions and special offers. • Encourage appropriate upselling and cross-selling. • Monitor daily sales performance and provide feedback to management. • Support promotional activities and customer retention initiatives. 6. Inventory & Stock Control • Monitor stock levels of food ingredients, beverages, packaging and operating supplies. • Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stocktaking. • Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients. • Minimise wastage and control unnecessary usage. • Report low-stock items and coordinate replenishment. 7. Cashier & Administrative Duties • Supervise POS and payment transactions. • Ensure proper handling of cash and electronic payments. • Assist with daily sales reconciliation. • Maintain accurate operational and sales records. • Prepare basic daily or weekly reports when required. 8. Hygiene & Safety • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café. • Ensure staff follow food safety and workplace safety procedures. • Monitor cleaning schedules and ensure equipment is properly maintained. • Report maintenance, safety or equipment issues to management. Requirements • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in café, restaurant or F&B operations , preferably with supervisory experience. • Good knowledge of food and beverage service. • Strong customer service and communication skills. • Able to lead and motivate a team. • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities. • Basic knowledge of POS systems and inventory control. • Well-groomed and professional. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment. • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
