Deputy General Manager

Deputy General Manager (Succession Track to GM) Role Overview Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Deputy GM will initially master ground operations, logistics, purchasing, and maintenance before progressively taking command of HR, compliance, marketing, and finance. The position is structured with a clear 12-to-18-month trajectory to take over daily commercial and executive leadership of the Singapore organization. Key Responsibilities Phase 1: Operational Mastery & Supply Chain (Months 1–6) - Assume direct command of the Outlets Operations Department; establish weekly KPI cadences with Area Managers covering labor scheduling, speed of service, and food wastage. - Oversee Purchasing, Maintenance, and Logistics to eliminate store stockouts and minimize equipment downtime. - Be on call 24/7 for operational crises, freeing the MD from frontline troubleshooting. Phase 2: Corporate Integration & Cross-Border Ramp-Up (Months 7–12) - Take oversight of HR and Compliance: manage foreign worker quotas, pass renewals, outlet hygiene ratings, and talent retention. - Coordinate the Singapore logistics and receiving protocols to integrate with the incoming Central Kitchen production batches. - Conduct weekly financial reviews of store-level P&Ls alongside the MD to master margin optimization. Phase 3: Executive Autonomy & Commercial Leadership (Months 13–18+) - Align Marketing campaigns with store prep capacity, ensuring promotions drive measurable EBITDA gains rather than store-level chaos. - Assume day-to-day oversight of Finance closing, operational budgets, and cross-department allocation. - Full operational autonomy over the Singapore business, qualifying for promotion to GM / Managing Director. Qualifications & Ideal Profile - Background: 6–10 years of fast-casual / QSR management experience, currently at Senior Area Manager, Operations Manager, or Assistant Director level. - Ground Hardiness: Someone who started from the frontline, understands kitchen bottlenecks, and can command the respect of store managers and delivery drivers. - Business Appetite: Understands P&L basics, gross margins, and labor cost ratios, with a genuine desire to learn corporate administration rather than just remaining a store operator. - Temperament: High ownership, comfortable with direct founder mentorship, and capable of holding peers accountable without creating toxic friction.
