Job Title: Hair Salon Assistant Job Summary: A Hair Salon Assistant plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to the hairstylists and salon professionals in delivering top-notch beauty and haircare services to clients. This role involves a combination of customer service, salon maintenance, and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the salon. Responsibilities: • Client Assistance:- • • Greet clients in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival. • Assist clients in getting settled and provide them with salon robes or other amenities as needed. • Offer beverages and ensure client comfort while waiting for services. • Escort clients to shampoo stations, styling chairs, or other service areas. • Shampooing and Preparatory Duties: • • Shampoo and condition clients' hair, ensuring a thorough and relaxing experience. • Prepare clients for haircuts, colour treatments, and other services by providing clean capes and drapes. • Assist with the application of colour, perms, and other chemical treatments, following safety protocols. • Salon Maintenance: • • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping hair clippings, sanitizing equipment, and replenishing supplies. • Launder and fold salon towels and capes. • Ensure that styling stations and shampoo areas are well-stocked and organized. • Product Assistance: • • Provide support in selling haircare and beauty products to clients. • Explain product benefits and assist with product selection. • Appointment Scheduling and Reception: • • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment book. • Greet walk-in clients and assist with their inquiries. • Handle cash transactions and process payments for services and products. • Client Relations: • • Listen attentively to clients' requests and relay their preferences to the hairstylists. • Assist in ensuring client satisfaction by addressing their concerns or needs promptly. • Collect feedback and comments to help improve services. • Laundry and Cleaning: • • Regularly wash and sanitize towels, capes, and salon linens. • Clean and disinfect salon tools, equipment, and workstations. • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in public areas of the salon. • Assist with Retail Sales: • • Keep track of inventory and notify the salon manager when products need to be restocked. • Assist in organizing product displays and promotions. • Adherence to Safety and Hygiene: • • Follow salon policies and procedures for sanitation and safety. • Maintain a clean and hygienic appearance and adhere to salon dress code. • Professional Development: • • Stay updated on the latest beauty trends and industry practices. • Attend training sessions and workshops as required by the salon. • Others • Any other duties / works as assigned by your reporting superiors. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in a salon or customer service role is a plus. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. • Basic knowledge of haircare and beauty products. • Attention to detail and cleanliness. • Friendly and professional demeanour. • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
