The Research Assistant assists in all research and operational data managementfunctions in HealthServe, under direction of Head of Medical Services andResearch (HoMSR).
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide Technical and Managerial support for all research activities, including:
a. Development of research policies and procedures
b. Developing and managing relationships with research/academic institutions, individual partners, and wider research community
c. Identify research opportunities
d. Screening project proposals
e. Writing project and funding proposals
f. Support in design, methodological, statistical and ethical aspects of projects
g. Project management of research project, including staff, interns and volunteers
h. Writing manuscripts and bringing to publication
i. Presenting academic and research outputs at conferences
j. Literature reviews and rapid reviews for ad-hoc operational questions
2. Provide Technical and Managerial support Foral data, reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities, including:
a. Support development of data, monitoring and evaluation systems for operations which are aligned with HealthServe’s mission and feed into donors’ reporting
b. Development and implementation of program evaluation
c. Data extraction, analysis and reporting from HealthServe’s clinic and case work data management systems
d. Ensure appropriate storage and security of data
MinimumQualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, life sciences, public health or relevant field.
• At least 1 year experience in an academic /research capacity
TechnicalCompetencies
• Acquaintance with statistical packages (STATA, SPSS, R, REDCap etc.)
• Good knowledge of basic and operational research methodology
• Proficiency in spoken Bengali and Tamil is required to communicate effectively with key client groups / field workers who primarily converse in these languages
