JR East Business Development SEA Pte. Ltd. (JR-SEABD) is the Singapore-based business arm of East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
We operate One&Co, a Japanese coworking and community space in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, bringing together Japanese companies, startups, entrepreneurs and professionals in Singapore.
We are looking for a Community & Events Associate (Part-Time) to join our team and help create a welcoming, well-run and engaging experience for our members and guests.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, supporting events and being part of a community, while also being comfortable with day-to-day coworking operations.
What You’ll Do
Community & Member Experience
• Welcome and assist members, guests and visitors at One&Co.
• Build positive relationships with members and create a friendly, professional community environment.
• Respond to member enquiries, requests and feedback.
• Proactively engage with members and help resolve day-to-day issues.
• Monitor the overall member experience and share feedback or improvement ideas with the team.
Coworking Operations
• Conduct daily checks of the lounge, meeting rooms, pantry and shared spaces.
• Ensure shared areas are clean, organised and ready for members and guests.
• Support meeting room bookings and member requests.
• Handle incoming mail and packages.
• Provide basic support for printers, Wi-Fi, coffee machines and meeting room equipment.
• Monitor office supplies, facilities and maintenance needs.
• Respond to basic phone and email enquiries.
• Assist with basic administrative work, documentation and financial transactions.
Events & Community Activities
• Support the planning and on-site execution of community events, networking sessions, seminars and other activities.
• Prepare event spaces, including tables, chairs, equipment and signage.
• Welcome and assist event participants and guests.
• Support the event team during activities and help ensure the event runs smoothly.
• Keep event and shared spaces organised throughout the event.
• Assist with post-event teardown and restoring the space after events.
Team & Administration
• Assist with operational paperwork and documentation.
• Keep the Assistant Manager updated on member feedback, operational matters and issues.
• Work closely with the team to support the daily operations of One&Co.
• Take on other operational or community-related projects when required.
What We’re Looking For
You do not need to have experience in every area above. We are looking for someone who is reliable, friendly and willing to learn.
Essential
• Good spoken and written English.
• Customer service experience or a strong interest in working with people.
• Friendly, approachable and comfortable interacting with different types of people.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, responsible and able to work independently when required.
• Good attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• A good team player who is adaptable and willing to help where needed.
• Comfortable assisting with event setup and teardown, including moving tables, chairs and equipment.
Good to Have
• Japanese language skills.
• Experience in coworking, hospitality, customer service, community management or facilities operations.
• Previous experience supporting events or community activities.
• Interest in Japanese culture, business or the Singapore–Japan community.
Working Arrangement
• Part-time, permanent position
• 2–4 working days per week
• Approximately 16–32 hours per week, depending on operational and event requirements.
• Tuesday and Friday preferred for regular operational shifts.
• Additional weekdays may be required depending on operational needs.
Regular working hours
• Opening shift: 8:30am–5:30pm
• Closing shift: 9:30am–6:30pm
Event shifts
• Weekday evening events generally start from 6:30pm onwards, depending on the event.
• Occasional weekend event shifts may also be required, with working hours depending on the event schedule.
• Scheduled event shifts will generally be communicated 3–4 weeks in advance.
Hourly Salary
• Regular shifts: SGD 17/hour + SGD 2 transport allowance per working day
• Weekday evening / weekend event shifts: SGD 20/hour + SGD 2 transport allowance per working day
