Strength Coach (Gym Tonic)

About Gym Tonic Gym Tonic is an evidence-based, technology-enabled strength training programme designed specifically for seniors. Through simple, safe and sustainable progressive strength training, Gym Tonic helps seniors build and maintain strength, prevent frailty and preserve their functional independence, empowering them to age well, age strong and age fearlessly. Our mission is to mainstream strength training as an ageing solution. We want strength training to become a normal and accessible part of ageing, where often seniors feel powerless and unable to do anything about being old and weak. With a growing network of Gym Tonic sites in Singapore and overseas, we are now looking for an intrepid, passionate and driven Strength Coach to join our team. You will be one of the key faces of Gym Tonic Express, our first flagship stand-alone outlet in the east of Singapore, and play an important role in creating an experience that seniors will look forward to coming back to. What You'll Be Doing This is more than a conventional fitness trainer role. You will coach, encourage and build relationships with seniors while championing the Gym Tonic mission. Your responsibilities will include: • Engaging seniors to build genuine and trusted relationships with them • Coaching seniors in using the Gym Tonic equipment • Conducting pre- and post-programme assessments using our proprietary technology and evidence-based assessment protocols • Creating an energetic, welcoming, safe and motivating training environment • Guiding and converting new members through free trials and outreach programmes • Serving as the anchor Strength Coach for our first Gym Tonic Express flagship outlet in the east. • Monitoring seniors' progress and keeping them motivated and engaged • Contributing to member retention, referrals and the overall growth of the outlet • Participating in advocacy initiatives and other activities that promote active and healthy ageing • Implementing and continuously improving operating manuals, SOPs and service-quality standards Ideally, you will have: • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Wellness, Health Management, or any other relevant Allied Health discipline from a recognised university or polytechnic, locally or overseas • Relevant and valid First Aid, CPR and AED certifications. Other recognised fitness, exercise or rehabilitation certifications will be an advantage • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the fitness, exercise, rehabilitation, sports, wellness or related industry • Genuine interest in engaging and working with seniors • Confidence using software, digital tools and technology • Confident, energetic and personable personality • Strong communication and interpersonal skills particularly in coaching, training and guiding • A positive attitude, team spirit and willingness to learn Why Join Us? Because this is more than a job in fitness. It is an opportunity to change the way people age. Every senior who becomes stronger may gain something far more important than muscle strength — the confidence to walk independently, get up from a chair, climb the stairs, continue doing the things they love and remain in control of their own lives. At Gym Tonic, you will see the impact of your work firsthand. You will also have the rare opportunity to be part of Gym Tonic Express from the beginning. As one of the pioneer coaches at our first flagship outlet, you will help shape the member experience, build the community and develop a model that we hope can eventually reach many more seniors in Singapore and beyond. We believe ageing should not simply be about adding more years to life. It should be about remaining strong, independent and capable to live those years fearlessly. If that is a mission you also believe in, we would love you to be part of it. Come fight frailty with us.
