Job Summary
Deliver Chinese language instruction aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus to primary and secondary students, providing tailored academic support and engaging parents with progress updates.
Responsibilities
• Deliver Chinese language lessons to Primary and Secondary students strictly aligned with the latest Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) syllabus (e.g., PSLE, O-Level)
• Design and prepare lesson plans that address individual student learning needs and academic foundations
• Assess and mark student assignments to monitor progress and identify areas requiring targeted support
• Provide personalised academic guidance to help students overcome learning challenges and improve performance
• Maintain regular, clear communication with parents to share objective feedback on student progress, classroom engagement, and improvement areas
• Collaborate in curriculum development by refining teaching materials to enhance learning effectiveness
• Participate actively in the centre’s academic research and initiatives to support continuous educational improvement
Required competencies and certifications
• Deep knowledge of the Chinese syllabus within the Singapore education system and examination requirements across academic levels
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Primary/Secondary Chinese, preferably in local Singapore tuition centres or MOE schools
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Education, or a closely related field
• Strong bilingual communication skills in Mandarin and English to effectively engage with students and parents
• Ability to manage classrooms effectively and inspire student interest in learning
• Flexibility to work according to the centre’s schedule, including weekends and selected public holidays
Preferred competencies and qualifications
• Prior teaching experience specifically in local Singapore tuition centres or MOE schools
