Job Summary A fitness trainer role combines coaching gym members with driving department revenue by closing sales for personal training packages and membership upgrades. Responsibilities Fitness and Coaching • Lead one-on-one or small group training sessions to deliver safe and effective fitness coaching. • Conduct initial fitness assessments and body composition tests to evaluate new gym members’ needs. • Design customized, goal-oriented workout routines tailored to individual client objectives. • Monitor exercise techniques and maintain a clean, hazard-free gym environment to ensure member safety. Sales and Revenue • Convert floor interactions, trial sessions, and fitness consultations into paid personal training packages. • Recommend advanced training programs, nutrition coaching, or partner packages to increase member engagement and revenue. • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales quotas and key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet department targets. • Follow up with expired package holders, inactive clients, and trial leads to renew or upgrade memberships. Required competencies and certifications • Hold an accredited Personal Trainer certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, ISSA). • Maintain valid First Aid and CPR certification. • Demonstrate proven experience in face-to-face selling, objection handling, and working in target-driven sales environments. • Exhibit strong communication, active listening, and motivational skills to build rapport and trust with clients.
