Main Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the implementation and continuous improvement of the Scania Group Compliance Program across Asia & Pacific.
• Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks relating to anti-bribery and anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, competition law, human rights and within the area of sustainability compliance .
• Monitor and coordinate applicable legal and regulatory requirements across the countries covered by the role.
• Provide practical, commercially relevant compliance advice to senior leadership, regional management and business functions.
• Partner with commercial business functions to integrate compliance into business processes and decisions.
• Support the development of a strong culture of compliance, integrity and responsible business conduct.
• Conduct and support compliance risk assessments, internal reviews and audit activities.
• Conduct and oversee third-party due diligence relating to suppliers, business partners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Advise on competition law and antitrust matters, including regulatory interactions, merger control and other regulatory filings where required.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs.
• Support the localisation and implementation of Group policies, procedures and compliance controls.
• Prepare compliance reports, recommendations and updates for senior management and Group Compliance.
• Undertake international travel as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in law, business, finance, compliance or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in law, compliance, risk management or a related field would be advantageous.
• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, risk management or a related field, gained in an international organisation, multinational company or reputable law firm.
• Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle, transport solutions, logistics, manufacturing or industrial sectors would be advantageous.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, preferably within the Asia & Pacific region.
• Demonstrated experience advising commercial and business functions on legal, compliance and risk matters, including commercial contracts, customer and supplier relationships, procurement, sales activities and business operations.
• Demonstrated experience in at least three or more of the following areas:
• Anti-bribery and anti-corruption
• Anti-money laundering
• Competition law and antitrust
• Merger control
• Third-party due diligence
• Internal investigations and whistleblowing
• Human rights or sustainability compliance
• Strong understanding of how compliance requirements can be embedded into commercial processes while supporting business objectives and operational needs.
• Demonstrated track record in establishing, implementing and embedding compliance programmes within complex multinational organisations.
• Demonstrated track record in advising senior management and working with regulators, enforcement authorities and diverse business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, legal and commercial judgement, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
• Fluent written and spoken English. Proficiency in an additional language relevant to the markets covered by the role would be advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.
