JOB TITLE: CLEANING SERVICES MANAGER

Job Summary
The Cleaning Services Manager is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations and ensuring that all services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. The successful candidate will lead cleaning teams, conduct site inspections, manage manpower and maintain effective communication with clients and management.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that all cleaning services are delivered according to the required service standards and client expectations.
• Lead, supervise and motivate cleaning teams to achieve high-quality cleaning outcomes using the appropriate equipment, materials and methods.
• Plan and allocate daily cleaning duties, work schedules and manpower requirements.
• Conduct weekly site inspections and performance monitoring to ensure that cleaning standards are consistently maintained.
• Supervise cleaning employees at schools and other assigned sites.
• Check employee attendance, completed duties and timesheets, and authorise overtime when required.
• Conduct induction, on-the-job and proficiency training for new and existing cleaners.
• Identify employees’ training needs and arrange the necessary coaching or refresher training.
• Monitor staff attendance, medical leave, absenteeism and unauthorised absence, and take appropriate follow-up action.
• Receive, issue, record and control cleaning materials, equipment and stock in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain proper operational records, checklists, reports and administrative systems.
• Monitor the condition of cleaning machinery and equipment and coordinate repairs, servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health requirements, company policies and site-specific safety procedures.
• Investigate service issues or complaints and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives, employees and senior management.
• Attend and participate in operational meetings, toolbox briefings and other relevant meetings when required.
• Prepare regular site, manpower, inventory and service-performance reports.
• Perform any other cleaning operations or management duties assigned by senior management.
Requirements
• Relevant experience in cleaning operations, facilities management or a similar service industry.
• Previous experience supervising cleaning personnel or managing multiple worksites is preferred.
• Good knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, machinery and workplace safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, manpower-planning and problem-solving skills.
• Able to conduct staff training and manage operational issues independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for preparing reports, checking timesheets and maintaining operational records.
• Responsible, organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to travel between assigned worksites when required.
