Quantity Surveyor Cum Purchasing

Requirement: 1. Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field 2. 1–3 years working experience in Quantity Surveying and/or Purchasing, preferably in the construction industry 3. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may also be considered.. Job description: 1. Supplier Research, Sourcing and Evaluation • Perform research to identify potential suppliers. • Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers, subcontractors, materials and equipment. • Evaluate supplier qualifications. 2. Procurement and Purchase Order Management • Prepare purchase orders. • Seek approval for purchase orders and contracts from supervisors. • Coordinate with other departments within the company for the purchase of specialized materials or equipment. • Maintain records of orders placed and shipments received. • Update inventory levels based on order and shipment records. 3. Price Negotiation and Supplier/Subcontractor Coordination • Negotiate price changes with suppliers, particularly when costs fluctuate significantly. • Assist the Quantity Surveyor Manager on negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors. 4. Quantity Take-Off, Costing and Estimation • Assist on taking off quantity, controlling and calculation of project costing. • Assist in computation of Bills of Quantities (BQ), ordering and material shuffling. • Perform cost estimation independently and accurately. 5. Progress Claims, Valuation and Payment • Assist the Quantity Surveyor Manager in preparing monthly progress claim reports. • Assist in preparing subcontractor payment certificates. • Assist with site valuations or measurements for claims and payments to subcontractors. 6. Variation Orders and Final Account • Assist in VO evaluation and project final account. • Coordinate with the project team in administering contractual matters such as variation orders, extension of time, loss and expenses, and project cost control. 7. Material Approval and Tender Documentation • Prepare and submit material approval documents. • Assist in preparing and compiling documents for tender submission. 8. Customer Communication and Support • Communicate with customers to provide information on order status. • Answer customer questions about products and services. • Resolve customer issues related to orders. 9. Contract Review and Compliance • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to purchasing procedures and best practices. • Assist in administering contractual matters and maintaining relevant procurement and contract documentation.
