Marine Superintendent cum QHSSE Manager

Educational Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Nautical Science, Occupational Safety, or related field - NIOSH, ISO Auditor, or equivalent safety certifications - Minimum 5 years of QHSSE experience in maritime or offshore sectors - Strong knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS, MLC, and environmental regulations - Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills Professional Certifications - Master or Chief Officer Certificate of Competency holder is minimum requirement - Experienced as commanding Master onboard sea going vessel is an advantage Experience Requirements - Has sea-going experience, ideally in senior roles such as: Master Mariner and/or Marine Superintendent - Hands-on experience with Vessel operations and voyage planning, Cargo handling and stowage, Emergency response and safety protocols Regulatory & Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and other international maritime laws - Port State Control procedures and audit readiness - Safety Management Systems (SMS) - Familiarity with marine ISM and SMS as well as CMMS. Skills & Competencies - Excellent leadership and communication skills for coordinating with captains, crew, and shore teams - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions - Proficiency in drafting performance reports, compliance documentation, and training programs KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for overseeing and implementing the company's quality, health, safety, security and environmental policies. 2. Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations. 3. Promotes strong safety culture and drives continuous improvement in operational standards. 4. Oversee Deck department daily works to ensure compliance with all related rules and regulations especially compliance with company's SMS. 5. Develop, implement, and maintain QHSSE policies and procedures in line with IMO, ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISO standards. 6. Conduct internal audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses. 7. Coordinate emergency response drills and safety campaigns. 8. Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with MARPOL and sustainability goals. 9. Liaise with flag states, classification societies, and port authorities. 10. Lead QHSSE training programs for crew and shore staff. 11. Maintain and update certifications. 12. Report KPIs and performance metrics to senior management.
