Production Supervisor

Job Title: Production Supervisor Location: Tanjung Malim, Perak Department: Production / Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager Salary: RM5000 – RM7000 (Depending on qualification and experience) Job Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. The role involves supervising production personnel, monitoring production schedules, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational targets. Key Responsibilities Production Operations • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to achieve production targets. • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of manufacturing orders. • Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and equipment. • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve productivity. Team Management • Lead, coach, and motivate production operators and technicians. • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and shift briefings. • Monitor employee performance and attendance. • Identify training needs and support workforce development. Quality Control • Ensure compliance with established quality procedures and work instructions. • Investigate product defects and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Work closely with the Quality Department on continuous quality improvement initiatives. • Ensure products meet customer and company specifications. Health, Safety & Environment • Enforce workplace safety regulations and company policies. • Conduct safety inspections and ensure proper use of PPE. • Report and investigate workplace incidents and near misses. • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. Inventory & Resource Management • Coordinate with Warehouse and Planning teams to ensure material availability. • Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage. • Ensure proper equipment maintenance and report machine issues promptly. Continuous Improvement • Participate in lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement projects. • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. • Support implementation of new production processes and equipment. Requirements Education • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. Experience • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. • At least 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience. • Experience in automotive parts, machinery manufacturing, or precision engineering will be an added advantage. Skills & Competencies • Strong leadership and people management skills. • Knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes. • Understanding of ISO standards, quality control systems, and workplace safety requirements. • Problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Production output achievement. • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). • Product quality and defect rate. • Production downtime. • Scrap and wastage reduction. • Safety compliance and incident rate. • Employee productivity and attendance.
