OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
· To ensure that the company avoids legal liabilities, which could result from non-observance of the responsibilities, placed on it. (Within the scope of current Malaysian Legislation {OSHA Act 1994 (Act 514) regulations and orders}.
· To ensure that a quality health safety & environment (QHSE) system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of ISO Standards (ISO 9001/ OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001).
· To prepare, review and control the issue of QHSE procedures as necessary and to revise and maintain the company QHSE Management System at worksite.
· To monitor through company’s offshore worksites, that the company’s policies and procedures are being satisfactorily observed.
· To carry out audits from time to time (including offshore sites by agreement with management).
· To check that personnel have had adequate on or off the job training to carry out their work in accordance with company standards.
· To monitor and present through Management review of the company QHSE plan to ensure the effectiveness of the system.
· To ensure that meetings are held as required by the company’s QHSE Management System and those minutes are kept and circulated. At as secretary of the rig QHSE Committee.
· Undertakes emergency duties as per emergency Station Bill.
· Participates in all safety meetings, including weekly, pre-tour and pre-job/toolbox/JSA meetings. Participate as secretary of monthly HSE safety committee meeting.
· To participate in offshore drilling activities to the extent necessary to ensure that equipment put to use is safe to use and fit for its purpose and has been adequately tested within the scope of industry recognised standards.
· To comment on any tenders made to the extent necessary to ensure that QHSE related matters have been adequately taken into account.
· Ensures all QHSE Risk assessment findings are applied
· Incorporates QHSE requirements in the development of processes and systems
· Contributes to QHSE improvements in the execution of our work
· Develops QHSE moments for meetings
· Promotes a “win-win” culture
· Shares information and ideas while working co-operatively and enthusiastically with others to achieve team and/or group goals
· Encourages all team members to make useful contributions
· Supports team decisions and outcomes through actions, commitment and communications to clarify understanding and evolve strategies.
· Investigates complex issues that may require determining credibility of conflicting position and relevance of other documentary material.
· Collects and catalogues all documentation from Company and witnesses necessary to support the facts of the investigation.
· Accurately reports the findings of an investigation, both oral and written, and makes recommendations to management.
· To participate in job planning activities to the extent necessary to ensure that QHSE related matters are adequately taken into account (Job Safety Analysis, Permit-to-Work, Training, audit and inspection).
· To participate in planning activities related to the design, refurbishment, planned maintenance and use of equipment to ensure adequate consideration of QHSE matters.
Establish and supervise internal QHSE Management System inspection and audit schedules. Conduct routine and ad-hoc safety inspection of life saving appliances (LSA) and fire fighting appliances (FFA), and advise any deficiency items found to the concerned party.
· To ensure resources are made available to offshore drilling related activities to ensure company policies are fully implemented.
· Undertake all assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner and being fully aware of ongoing operations by ensuring clear understanding of supervisor instructions.
· To co-ordinate activity with other members of the Company in a mutually helpful way.
· Strictly adhere to the principle of trust, integrity and confidentiality.
· Provides a culture fostering the development, implementation and continuous improvement of practices and behaviours that ensure Health and Safety, and the protection of the Environment.
· Develops and follows QHSE requirements. Identifies unsafe acts/ practices and takes appropriate action. Operates in a manner that respects the environment.
· Understands the value of what is at stake to all parties. Adopts an appropriate negotiating stance in order to meet desired outcomes.
· Able to analyse situations, incidents and trends to identify lessons and opportunities to improvement.

QHSE MANAGEMENT
· Your position is a Safety Critical Position. You are responsible to maintain the integrity of the “Barriers” meant to prevent Major Accident Hazard (MAH) from becoming an incident. You must be familiar with the barriers you are accountable for in Appendix 1 and ensure your Safety Critical Activities meant to safeguard those barriers are performed diligently.
· Familiarise with your roles in the Velesto Emergency Response Plan and participate in all the emergency drills
· Familiarise with your roles in the station bill, ensure you understand your roles and perform your duties accordingly
· Take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or oversights.
