Clifford Chance is a place where the brightest minds and the best of colleagues meet. We opened our Singapore office in 1981 to service Singapore and South East Asia, making it one of the longest established international law firms in the region. In 2012, Clifford Chance Pte Ltd and Cavenagh Law LLP registered as a Formal Law Alliance in Singapore under the name Clifford Chance Asia. The Formal Law Alliance allows the two firms to provide the broadest range of Singapore and international law services from one platform, with Singapore litigation representation provided through Cavenagh Law. This opportunity not only allows you to gain work experience in a first-class working environment, but it is also often the first step in your career path as a lawyer. Dates for the 2027 schemes are as follows: • 31 May to 25 June 2027 (Year 3s and 2s) • 5 July to 30 July 2027 (Year 2s only) Applications will close on 29 January 2027. We do not review applications on a rolling basis. The internship is held jointly with Cavenagh Law LLP, our formal law alliance partner in Singapore. Who you will work with During the four-week scheme you will follow the life of a lawyer at Clifford Chance closely – you will sit in two different practice areas, working with our lawyers on real, live client projects. You will be treated as a part of our team and given opportunities to demonstrate your ability. What we look for You will need to exhibit ambition, drive and commitment, the ability to articulate ideas clearly, and the desire to build relationships and deliver outstanding service. We're also looking for business awareness, a keen commercial insight and a strong ability to lead and manage. Our firm, work and people span jurisdictions, cultures, and languages. In a world where commercial success increasingly relies on globalisation, we offer clients a truly international perspective, and we offer our people a rewarding and stimulating career. We're proud of our approachable, friendly and team-based way of working. Highly professional and self-assured, with an entrepreneurial streak, our people are more than happy to share their expertise and knowledge. Successful candidates also demonstrate intellectual curiosity, common sense, strong interpersonal skills, an interest in business and the capacity to assimilate detailed information quickly. These are the qualities that will determine your future with us. Above all, we are looking for people who do not settle for second best in what they want to achieve and where they choose to work. When completing your application consider how you can best demonstrate these qualities and try to provide examples from your academic life, work experience or other activities. To apply for a summer internship, you must be eligible to be admitted to the Singapore Bar. Please refer to the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) for more information on the approved universities, and the "qualified person" and admission requirements. You must also be able to start your Practice Training Contract with Cavenagh Law LLP in January 2029 or 2030.
