Lead Product Manager, Data Platform (Measurement & BI)

About Grab and Our Workplace Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp. From getting your favourite meals delivered to helping you manage your finances and getting around town hassle-free, we've got your back with everything. In Grab, purpose gives us joy and habits build excellence, while harnessing the power of Technology and AI to deliver the mission of driving Southeast Asia forward by economically empowering everyone, with heart, hunger, honour, and humility. Get to Know the Team The Data Platform team is a collective of software engineers, product managers, product designers, and technical program managers, who build the data foundation that powers Grab’s business. Platforms within the team’s scope encompass Grab’s Data Lake and Signals Marketplace, Data Discovery and Catalog, Customer Data Platform, Experimentation, Metrics, and others. Our mission is to turn data into a growth engine within the Grab ecosystem and to enable Grabbers to work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively. The Measurement & BI team owns the metrics platform and tools, serving millions of metric queries a day and increasingly powering agentic business intelligence within the company. Our customers span across analytics teams, data scientists, Finance and FP&A, and increasingly non-data savvy Grabbers using analytics and data agents. Get to Know the Role We are looking for an experienced Data PM, who thrives at solving complex problems in the big data space and has a proven track record of building for technical users. This is a high-leverage role within the organization, picking up the charter at an inflection point – we have spent years scaling the metrics platform. We now need someone to take it to the point where anyone at Grab, a person or an AI agent, can measure a feature, a campaign or a market, with the platform carrying the technical work. The successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity and be genuinely excited about pushing the frontier of agentic Business Intelligence, while also defining the feedback loop to Grab’s broader Data & AI strategy. This is an individual contributor role based onsite in Grab’s headquarters in Singapore, reporting to the Head of Product, Data and AI Platforms. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform • Own and drive the product strategy for the charter within the context of Grab’s broader data strategy. • Deep dive into key problem spaces in the area and obsess over your users, while also designing against the feasibility of the tech stack. • You will set the line between platform and application for agentic BI, and move Grab's reporting onto governed metrics and semantic models. • You will build in the open with your users, be a power user of the data agents built on the platform, and ship merge requests. • Be accountable for user metrics (adoption, engagement, task success) of platforms within the charter. • Prioritize and oversee product initiatives end-to-end from discovery, through execution, to product launch. • Represent the voice of the customer in discussions with the engineering team and key stakeholders. What Essential Skills You Will Need • Product Management: At least 6 years of hands-on technical product management experience, with at least 2 years in managing data or AI platforms. • Metrics and BI: You have built or run a metrics layer, semantic layer or BI platform, in-house or on tools such as dbt Semantic Layer, Cube or LookML. • Data Architecture: You can reason about how a metric travels from the lakehouse through engines such as Trino, StarRocks or Pinot, well enough to challenge an engineering design on feasibility and cost. • Dimensional Modeling: Strong theoretical and practical understanding of relational data modeling (Kimball dimensional methodologies, DAG-based orchestration frameworks). • Data Analytics and Problem-Solving: You are proficient in data-driven decision-making, validating your own analysis, and telling a compelling story with data. • Stakeholder Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • AI and Agents: You have designed and shipped data products that AI agents consume, such as text-to-SQL or a semantic layer serving an LLM.
