Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator (CCP for Autonomous Vehicle Specialists)

This is a 1-year contract position. Job Duties and Responsibilities • Monitor autonomous vehicle systems during operation and report irregularities or malfunctions. • Maintain high levels of alertness and attention throughout each test drive to ensure safety and accurate monitoring • Monitor vehicle behavior, system alerts, and surrounding environment • Take manual control of the vehicle when necessary to ensure safety • Conduct pre-drive and post-drive vehicle checks • Communicate with field teams and support staff to resolve operational issues • Document test results, performance data, and report anomalies to the technical team • Act as a first responder in case of vehicle malfunction • Perform any ad hoc duties assigned Job Requirements • A valid class 3 license • Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record • Training or experience in defensive driving techniques, including hazard anticipation and accident prevention, is advantageous • Basic understanding of vehicle systems or autonomous technology is a plus • Ability to remain focused for extended periods of time • Good communication and reporting skills • Willingness to undergo a driving skills assessment to evaluate readiness for manual intervention during autonomous vehicle operations • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shift work, weekends and public holidays
