Job Description & Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.
• Assist the Project Manager in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and overall project execution.
• Coordinate and monitor structural, reinforced concrete, formwork, rebar, and other building construction works.
• Review construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress, manpower deployment, material usage, equipment allocation, and productivity.
• Prepare and update project schedules, work programmes, progress reports, and daily site records.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, construction discrepancies, and site coordination problems.
• Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, inspection requests, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and site logistics to prevent delays.
• Monitor subcontractors' work progress, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with Quantity Surveyors regarding site measurements, variation orders, progress claims, and additional works.
• Attend site coordination meetings, technical meetings, and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and main contractors.
• Ensure construction activities comply with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with site safety personnel to implement appropriate safety measures and rectify unsafe conditions.
• Assist in resolving quality issues, preparing corrective action reports, and coordinating inspections.
• Maintain proper records of site instructions, inspection reports, material submissions, and construction progress.
• Support testing, commissioning, project handover, and defect rectification where applicable.
• Perform other engineering and project-related duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in Singapore's building and construction industry is preferred.
• Experience in reinforced concrete structures, formwork systems, reinforcement works, and general building construction.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and site execution procedures.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, BCA requirements, and applicable Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, architectural drawings, and construction details accurately.
• Experience in preparing method statements, work schedules, progress reports, and technical submissions.
• Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and site coordination skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, and site teams.
• Able to work independently under pressure and manage multiple tasks within tight project deadlines.
• Willing to work on construction sites and attend site meetings as required.
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to project quality and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with main contractors or structural works subcontractors in Singapore.
• Hands-on experience in reinforced concrete, formwork, rebar installation, and concrete casting operations.
• Familiarity with high-rise residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects.
• Experience in construction planning, manpower scheduling, and site productivity monitoring.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination and construction sequencing is an advantage.
• Possession of relevant Singapore construction safety training certificates is an advantage.
