Job Summary
The Assistant Engineer (M&I Meter) assists the Senior Engineer in coordinating with clients for job scheduling and execution of work, performs site-based activities, and ensures compliance with the company's Code of Conduct and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.
Responsibilities
• Calibrate, verify, and test flow meters and provers following approved procedures and standards to ensure measurement accuracy
• Prepare, set up, and dismantle calibration equipment at sites or workshops to support smooth operations
• Accurately record calibration data, results, and observations in logs or reports for traceability and quality control
• Assist Senior Engineer in scheduling and planning calibration and maintenance jobs to optimize resource use
• Coordinate with clients to confirm job scope, schedule, and on-site requirements for effective project execution
• Support on-site work by allocating resources and managing logistics to meet project timelines
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on engineering equipment and tools according to maintenance schedules to ensure operational reliability
• Conduct basic mechanical repairs including dismantling, troubleshooting, component replacement, and reassembly to maintain equipment functionality
• Adhere strictly to company Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and safe work practices to maintain a safe workplace
• Maintain comprehensive records of calibration, maintenance, repair, and fabrication activities for compliance and reporting
Requirements
• Degree, Diploma, or relevant technical qualification in Engineering or related field
• Willingness to work on-site and comply with safety and quality procedures
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
• Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage with management, suppliers, and clients
• Fluency in English and local language to facilitate clear communication in diverse work environments
• Demonstrated judgment and adherence to SGS standards of ethics and integrity
