1310 Animal Facility Operations Assistant/Cage Wash/4 days

Number of Personnel 2x Manpower Contract Period 1 Year Work Location Animal Research Facility (ARF), LKCMedicine Working Hours Work shall be carried out during the following office hours: • Monday to Thursday: 0830 hours to 1745 hours • 4 days per week, excluding Public Holidays Job Responsibilities The appointed personnel shall be responsible for carrying out the following duties at the Animal Research Facility (ARF): • Dismantling of soiled cage components. • Scrapping of soiled bedding via the bedding disposal station. • Washing of dirty cage components by operating the cage/bottle washer. • Filling up clean cages with bedding. • Assembly of cages and preparation of trolley for autoclaving. • Simple repair of cage components. • Assembly of cage rack. • Assistance with topping up Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and laundry , including collection, topping up and disposal. • Preparation of disinfectants. • Sending waste bags down to LKCMedicine Clinical Sciences Building (CSB) B1 for disposal. • Housekeeping at both clean and dirty areas. • General maintenance and upkeep of the facility corridors and common areas. • Replacement personnel requirement: The vendor shall send replacement personnel if the scheduled worker fails to turn up for work. General Requirements The personnel assigned to this service shall: • Able to perform laborious duties and carry heavy items. • Be able to carry out the assigned duties according to the required working schedule. • Follow the relevant workplace procedures, safety requirements and instructions. • Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness within the designated areas. • Be responsible and punctual in reporting for work. • Work cooperatively with the ARF team and other relevant personnel. • Ensure that all assigned duties are carried out properly and in a timely manner.
