RoleDefinition:
TheQuality Assurance Engineer / Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsiblefor ensuring products, suppliers and quality processes meet Harwin’s quality,reliability, regulatory and customer requirements.
Therole covers incoming quality control, supplier quality, quality managementsystems, non-conformance management, root-cause investigation, corrective andpreventive actions, audits, new product introduction and continuousimprovement, while working closely with internal teams, suppliers, customersand Harwin HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage NCR, CAPA and corrective action processes, including root-cause investigation, follow-up and timely closure.
• Identify, quarantine and manage non-conforming materials/products, including disposition such as RTV, rework, concession or scrap.
• Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone and other appropriate quality tools.
• Support customer quality issues and complaints, including investigation, corrective actions and communication with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage and follow up on supplier quality issues, including supplier corrective actions, performance monitoring and improvement activities.
• Conduct and support supplier audits, internal quality audits and quality system compliance activities.
• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant quality procedures, SOPs and records.
• Support New Product Development / Introduction (NPD/NPI) activities including FAI, product qualification, sample evaluation and quality readiness.
• Support product and process changes to ensure quality requirements and potential risks are appropriately assessed.
• Manage quality reporting and relevant quality KPIs / metrics by reviewing performance, trends and recurring issues and recommend continuous improvement and preventive actions.
• Collaborate closely with HQ, Warehouse, Procurement, Engineering/Product teams, Finance, customers, suppliers and external partners on quality-related matters.
• Validate components against technical drawings, specifications and quality requirements; maintain inspection records, samples and relevant quality documentation.
• Monitor Incoming Quality Control (IQC) through visual and contact/contactless measurement inspection of connector components in accordance with prescribed AQL and inspection criteria.
• Support other quality and operational activities as required.
Preferred Knowledge & Advantage
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience in supplier quality management, internal/supplier audits and CAPA/NCR management.
• Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP and PPAP would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with IEC 61076 series, VDE, RoHS and REACH requirements would be advantageous.
• Experience in connector, electronic, electromechanical, automotive or precision component manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Internal/Lead Auditor or Quality Engineering certification would be advantageous.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Production or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or related functions.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Hands-on experience with inspection equipment such as vernier callipers, micrometres, go/no-go gauges, optical scopes and other precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify subtle cosmetic and dimensional defects, including plating or colour deviations.
• Comfortable handling and inspecting small and intricate components.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.
• Able to work independently while coordinating effectively across internal teams, suppliers and customers.
