• Maintain backup documentation, recovery procedures, media inventories, and operational records.
• Support disaster recovery (DR) planning, tabletop exercises, and recovery drills to validate restoration capability against recovery objectives.
• Collaborate with application, database, network, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues and support infrastructure changes.
• Maintain accurate server, backup, and configuration records in the CMDB.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts, Ansible playbooks, and automated workflows for server provisioning, patching, monitoring, recovery validation, and compliance reporting.
• Integrate operational activities with ITSM, monitoring, and observability platforms to improve visibility and traceability.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Provide technical guidance to vendors and application teams while ensuring compliance with infrastructure standards, security controls, and change management requirements.
• Participate in incident response, planned maintenance, and operational support outside normal working hours when required.
Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven relevant experience administering enterprise Unix/Linux and backup environments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including system services, storage, file systems, networking, permissions, package management, logging, security, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise backup technologies covering backup configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration, and disaster recovery testing.
• Good understanding of backup retention, encryption, access control, off-site protection, and recovery requirements.
• Practical experience in server provisioning, OS patching, performance monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
• Working knowledge of shell scripting and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with virtualisation, cloud infrastructure, storage technologies, Infrastructureas Code, ITSM, CMDB, and observability tools.
