In this strategic leadership role, you will take full P&L ownership of a hybrid marketplace and direct e-commerce model. You will oversee third-party merchant growth (monetized via Listing and Lead Generation fees) while simultaneously building and managing our in-house/ 1P product portfolio (i.e. educational , health & wellness products, proprietary courseware, medical devices, or branded kits). Your mission is to balance marketplace scale with high-margin direct product sales to create a dominant, end-to-end e-commerce destination for consumers. Key Responsibilities Hybrid Business Model & P&L Ownership • Full P&L Ownership: Drive top-line GMV, listing revenue, lead-gen revenue, and gross margins across both 3P (third-party marketplace) and 1P (first-party proprietary products) lines of business. • 1P vs. 3P Portfolio Strategy: Strategically determine when to partner with 3P vendors versus sourcing, developing, or private-labeling proprietary 1P offerings to maximize margin and platform defensibility. • Monetization Optimization: Manage tiered listing packages, pay-per-lead pricing, and sponsored product placements alongside 1P product pricing and margin optimization. Proprietary Product Sourcing, Procurement & E-Commerce (1P) • Direct Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, negotiate, and establish direct supply chain relationships with manufacturers, publishers, and product suppliers in health and education. • Inventory & Category Management: Oversee forecasting, inventory turnover, stock planning, pricing strategies, and fulfillment logistics to minimize stockouts and operational risk. • Product Line Development: Identify high-demand consumer trends (e.g., specialized health kits, educational tools, wellness products) to launch high-margin, proprietary-branded products directly on the platform. B2C Demand Generation & Lead Conversion (Consumer Focus) • High-Converting Consumer Funnel: Drive B2C traffic (SEO, SEM, paid media) and convert top-of-funnel visitors into both direct product buyers and high-intent leads for 3P partners. • Smart Matching & Cross-Selling: Optimize search and discovery algorithms to seamlessly cross-sell 1P proprietary products alongside 3P service listings (e.g., offering proprietary study kits with tutor leads, or wellness products alongside clinic booking leads). • Funnel Optimization: Maximize search-to-cart conversion for 1P products and search-to-lead conversion for 3P merchant listings. Third-Party Marketplace & Merchant Success (3P Supply) • 3P Merchant Acquisition: Oversee recruitment and onboarding of certified health professionals, clinics, edtech providers, and institutional partners. • Lead Quality & Merchant ROI: Maintain high match rates and lead conversion quality for 3P merchants, ensuring strong renewal rates on listing packages. • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Enforce strict verification standards across both 3P service credentials and 1P physical/digital product compliance (regulatory health guidelines, educational standards). Job Requirements • Proven Track Record: Min. 8 years of experience in high-growth E-Commerce / Marketplace platforms, managing direct product sales/sourcing OR 3P merchant listings/lead generation. • Sourcing & Merchandising Expertise: Hands-on experience with product sourcing, vendor procurement, inventory management, and gross margin optimization for physical or digital products. • Consumer Demand & Conversion Focus: Deep expertise in B2C acquisition, e-commerce merchandising, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and consumer search behavior. • Domain Experience: Strong prior experience directly sourcing, procuring, and managing vendor/manufacturing relationships for Educational products (e.g. learning kits, test prep materials, digital/hardware devices) and Healthcare/Wellness products (health kits, medical devices/supplies, care items, supplements) preferred. • Commercial Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing complex P&Ls across multiple business models. • "Commercial Hunter" Mindset: Resourceful, tenacious, and outcome-obsessed with a strong drive to negotiate razor-sharp margins • Analytical & Data-Driven Rigor: Instinctively focuses on metrics that truly impact business growth (i.e. actual profit margins, CVC, LTV) rather than vanity metrics, leveraging data to run new ideas and make informed business decisions • Regulatory Sensitivity: Uncompromising commitment to product quality, safety standards, and merchant credentialing, with the ability to navigate medical/educational compliance smoothly without losing commercial momentum. • Ambiguity Navigator & Strategic Agility: Ego-free adaptability to move seamlessly from executive strategy and P&L modeling to granular factory supplier negotiations and conversion funnel optimizations. • Cross-Functional Catalyst: Natural collaborator capable of bridging communication between stakeholders.
