Software Developer (Java) - Public Sector

Location: Walking distance from Jurong East MRT Budget : Up to $8,000 (Salary to commensurate with experience) Job Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and related technologies • Build RESTful APIs and microservices to support web and mobile applications • Participate in system architecture, design discussions, and code reviews • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability • Integrate with databases, third-party systems, and messaging platforms • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT/production releases • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and business stakeholders Qualification & Experience • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or equivalent. • Min 3 years in Java based development with relevant architecture and design principles knowledge. • Candidate must be experience in application development from scratch . • Experience with messaging tools like IBM MQ / Kafka is a plus. • Prior experience in financial or public sector industry is a plus. • Experience building backend systems using object-oriented design principles. • Experience with RESTful API development.
