Senior / Java Developer (Jurong East)

Job Summary Develop and maintain software applications by collaborating in design, testing, and deployment activities. Apply best practices to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions while supporting continuous process improvements in an Agile environment. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain software applications based on functional and technical requirements to meet business needs • Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions to ensure successful delivery • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern development frameworks and technologies for long-term usability • Create and execute unit tests to validate software quality and reliability before release • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues to maintain optimal system functionality • Collaborate with team members during Agile development activities such as sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives to enhance team productivity • Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and deployment activities under senior engineers’ guidance to streamline release processes • Learn and apply software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards to improve code quality • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and application performance to increase efficiency and user satisfaction Required competencies and certifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline • Applicants with no experience are welcomed to apply • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development fundamentals • Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot frameworks • Familiarity with React.js or Vue.js front-end frameworks • Understanding of Git or other source code management tools • Basic knowledge of databases and RESTful APIs • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and grow Preferred competencies and qualifications • Exposure to CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes containerization and orchestration tools • Experience with microservices architecture • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Able to start work immediately or on very short notice 5 day week @ Jurong East (near MRT) Maestro HR damien lee tian hong R1106726 16C8462
