Get to Know the Role
We are looking for a Deposition Engineer to support pilot line launches and new technology development in our mask blank manufacturing facility. You will work closely with the Development and Research and Development (R&D) teams, including our Nagasaka, Japan site, to develop deposition processes, drive product transfer, and improve yield, quality, and throughput. This role requires applying statistics-driven methods for experimental design and data analysis, while providing engineering support for new product setup and development activities.
Essential Responsibilities
• Coordinate new product and equipment qualification while developing fabrication stages and managing the transfer of qualified products into mass production with controlled parameters
• Develop and optimize scalable manufacturing processes for mass production, including yield improvement measures and robust process control techniques
• Analyze factors affecting thin film properties in sputter deposition and refine process parameters, limits, and monitoring methods to achieve high product yield
• Create and maintain detailed specifications and manufacturing instructions across all stages of production
Skills and Competencies Profile
Required Qualifications:
• Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or any related field; fresh graduates may apply, OR
• 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience in the semiconductor industry, or prior experience in related roles, is preferred
Technical Skills:
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Good understanding of thin film metallurgy and deposition processes and equipment (ion beam deposition, PVD, CVD)
• Experienced in demonstrating statistical skills in data analysis, good knowledge of JMP, Minitab, DOE, and SPC is preferred
• Experienced with the following tools: Ellipsometer, X-ray reflectometry, SEM and EDX
• Experienced in a quality certified environment, i.e. ISO9001, 5S, 8D, Lean Six Sigma
Soft Skills:
• Able to work independently with initiative and accountability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable and detail-oriented
Additional Information
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment and perform overtime as and when necessary
