Assistant Teacher

Job Title: Assistant Teacher (Preschool) Location: Telok Kurau, Singapore Job Type: Full-Time About Us: We are a nurturing and community-focused preschool located in the heart of Telok Kurau, Singapore. Our curriculum is guided by the NEL (Nurturing Early Learners) framework and EYDF (Early Years Development Framework) , following an inquiry-based approach . With a strong emphasis on child development, play-based learning, and parental involvement, we provide a warm and stimulating environment for young learners. Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate should have a love for working with young children, be a team player, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting daily lessons, activities, and routines based on the school’s curriculum. • Support children's learning through play-based and inquiry-based experiences. • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including supervising playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods. • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development. • Assist in preparing and organizing teaching materials, learning resources, and classroom setups. • Observe, document, and communicate children's progress and behavior to the Lead Teacher and parents when required. • Build strong, professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. • Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment. • Participate in school events, field trips, and community outreach programs. • Adhere to the preschool’s policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with ECDA (Early Childhood Development Agency) regulations. Requirements: • Minimum FECCE OR ACEY (Advanced Certificate in Early Years) or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education. • Relevant experience in a preschool or childcare setting is an advantage. • Passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Positive attitude, patience, and a nurturing personality. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
