Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee supply chain, procurement, warehouse, logistics and order fulfilment activities. The role will also support the setup and readiness of a new manufacturing plant in Malaysia. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Planning: Plan materials, packaging and inventory based on customer demand and production requirements. Monitor stock levels, shortages, excess inventory and critical materials. Develop replenishment and contingency plans. Coordinate supply and production plans with Production, Sales and QA teams. Procurement & Supplier Management: Manage purchasing of raw materials, packaging, consumables and spare parts. Evaluate and manage suppliers, including delivery performance, capacity and costs. Negotiate supplier terms and monitor purchase orders. Support supplier qualification and alternative sourcing. Warehouse & Inventory: Oversee receiving, storage, picking, issuing and dispatch activities. Maintain accurate inventory, lot and stock-status records. Monitor shelf life, FIFO, slow-moving and obsolete stock. Ensure proper chemical storage, segregation and handling procedures. Maintain packaging integrity and batch traceability. Customer Service & Order Fulfilment: Manage customer orders and delivery commitments. Coordinate delivery schedules and communicate shipment status. Ensure correct product, grade, quantity, batch, packaging and required documentation are delivered. Import & Export Logistics Manage import/export shipments, customs documentation and clearance. Coordinate Malaysia–Singapore cross-border logistics. Ensure appropriate chemical, dangerous-goods, SDS and permit requirements are followed. Monitor freight costs, shipment status and logistics disruptions. New Plant Setup: Support supply chain readiness for plant start-up, including materials, warehouse, ERP/system setup and logistics. Coordinate procurement and delivery of commissioning materials. Establish SCM procedures and train SCM personnel before operations begin. Team Management Lead, train and develop the SCM team. Set departmental KPIs and monitor team performance. Promote safety, teamwork, discipline and continuous improvement. Requirements: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics. At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in chemical manufacturing or distribution is strongly preferred. Semiconductor specialty chemical experience is an advantage. Experience in import/export, warehouse operations and batch-controlled inventory. Experience setting up supply chain processes for a new manufacturing plant is an advantage. Strong planning, supplier management, problem-solving and communication skills.
