AUTOMATION ENGINEER (PROJECT/MAINTENANCE)

The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of automated robotics, logistics, and controls. You will directly support daily manufacturing operations by ensuring all automated equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably; minimizing downtime while maximizing productivity. Job Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system faults in real time to minimize production downtime. • Lead and execute routine preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and technical inspections to ensure long-term equipment reliability. • Manage day-to-day configuration changeovers, accurately adjusting equipment to meet varying production requirements. • Support the setup, testing, integration, and commissioning of new automated equipment into existing workflows. • Assist in root cause analysis investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability, enhance workflow efficiency, and reduce overall maintenance costs. • Provide technical support during planned plant shutdowns, system overhauls, or equipment upgrades. • Ensure all maintenance and operational activities strictly comply with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards. • Maintain accurate records of daily maintenance activities, equipment operation instructions, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Efficiently escalate critical technical faults to engineering or vendor support when necessary. Requirements: • Diploma, or higher degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience maintaining automation equipment, particularly in a fast-paced PCBA manufacturing environment. • Proficient in reading technical manuals and procedures. • Knowledge of replacing mechanical and electrical components, preferably with robots, conveyors, AGVs, sensors, and control panels. • Understand how automated control systems work, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs. Practical experience with PLC troubleshooting is a strong advantage. • Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and respond rapidly to unexpected equipment breakdowns. • Strong communication and teamwork skills, paired with a proactive, safety-first mindset.
