Academian (Faculty of Dentistry)

We are seeking qualified and passionate Academicians to join our Faculty of Dentistry. We welcome applications from candidates with relevant academic and clinical expertise in the following areas: Areas of Specialisation: - Periodontology (Gum specialist) - Prosthodontics (Crown, Bridge & Implant) - Paediatric Dentistry - Orthodontics - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - Oral Pathology / Oral Medicine Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Clinical - Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and clinical teaching within the relevant area of expertise. - Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students during academic and clinical activities. - Prepare and update teaching materials, assessments and examination questions. - Assess student performance and provide constructive academic and clinical feedback. - Participate in curriculum development, programme review and continuous improvement activities. - Ensure teaching and clinical activities comply with relevant professional, ethical and patient safety standards. Research & Scholarly Activities - Conduct and contribute to research within the relevant field. - Publish and present research findings in journals, conferences and academic forums. - Supervise student research projects, where applicable. - Participate in research grant applications and collaborative research activities. - Contribute to the Faculty’s research and publication objectives. Academic & Faculty Responsibilities - Participate in departmental, Faculty and University meetings and committees. - Support accreditation, academic audits and quality assurance activities. - Contribute to student development and other Faculty activities. - Maintain relevant professional registration and continuous professional development. - Undertake other academic responsibilities as assigned by the Dean. Requirements: - Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent recognised dental qualification. - Master’s degree, specialist qualification or equivalent postgraduate qualification in the relevant discipline. - Relevant clinical and/or academic experience in the respective area of specialisation. - Teaching experience in a university, dental school or higher education setting is preferred. - Experience in clinical teaching, student supervision, assessment or curriculum development is an advantage. - Research experience, publications and scholarly activities will be an added advantage. - Relevant professional registration and valid practising credentials, where applicable. - Strong communication, presentation and student engagement skills.
