M&E Modeller

Job Responsibilities • Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems using Revit and other relevant BIM software. • Prepare detailed M&E models based on design drawings, specifications, shop drawings and project requirements. • Model mechanical systems including ACMV/HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection systems. • Model electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, containment, ELV and other relevant building services. • Coordinate M&E models with architectural, civil & structural and other specialist models. • Perform BIM coordination and clash detection to identify conflicts between M&E and other disciplines. • Assist M&E Engineers and Coordinators in resolving design and modelling issues identified during coordination. • Update BIM models based on approved design changes, site conditions and construction information. • Prepare M&E shop drawings, coordination drawings, sections, details and layouts from BIM models. • Ensure BIM models comply with project BIM standards, modelling requirements and naming conventions. • Coordinate with M&E engineers, consultants, subcontractors and other BIM team members. • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and follow up on modelling and clash-resolution requirements. • Assist in preparing coordinated drawings for construction and site installation. • Maintain model accuracy and ensure drawings are properly updated following design revisions. • Assist with quantity take-offs and extraction of information from BIM models where required. • Incorporate approved RFIs, technical changes and site instructions into BIM models. • Assist in developing as-built BIM models based on actual site installation and approved records. • Maintain proper records of model revisions, drawing submissions and coordination information. • Support testing, commissioning, completion and handover documentation through accurate BIM information. • Perform other BIM and modelling duties assigned by the BIM Manager or M&E Design Manager. Job Requirements • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, BIM, CAD or a related discipline. • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant M&E modelling/BIM experience. • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP is required. • Experience with large-scale building projects is preferred. • Experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional or complex building projects will be an advantage. • Good understanding of M&E building services and construction practices. • Experience in modelling ACMV/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection or ELV systems. • Familiarity with Navisworks or other BIM coordination and clash detection software. • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM documentation standards. • Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications and technical documents. • Good understanding of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary model integration. • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate models and drawings. • Good communication and coordination skills. • Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
