Japanese Speaking Sales Executive / Sales Assistant Manager [Timber trading]

[Job ID: 1638442] Responsibilities: • Develop and execute international sales strategies for timber and wood-related products. • Build and maintain strong relationships with global buyers, suppliers, and business partners. • Identify new market opportunities and expand the timber trading portfolio. • Promote sustainably sourced timber products and communicate their environmental value to clients. • Manage the full sales cycle, from sourcing through delivery, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. • Monitor timber and forestry market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics. • Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management. • Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient logistics, compliance, and operations. • Ensure compliance with applicable international trade regulations and sustainability standards, such as FSC or equivalent. • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and strategic recommendations for senior management. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Forestry, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience in international sales. • Professional working proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients, suppliers, and stakeholders. • Experience in timber, commodities, or related industries is an added advantage. • Strong interest in the timber industry and sustainability or environmental initiatives. • Proven leadership and team management capabilities. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. • Familiarity with international trade regulations and sustainability certifications is an added advantage. • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
