Senior Designer (Commercial Interior Fit Out/5-day)

Job Highlights; • Industry: Corporate Interior Design • Location: CBD • Working Days: 5-day work week Job Responsibilities; • Design & Fit-Out Project Development • Lead the design development of interior fit-out projects from initial concept through to completion • Develop creative, practical and commercially viable design solutions in line with client requirements, project briefs and budgets • Prepare design concepts, mood boards, material selections, space plans and design presentations • Develop detailed design drawings, layouts, specifications and documentation for project execution • Ensure design intent is effectively translated into the completed built environment • Coordinate closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, consultants, contractors and suppliers • Conduct site visits and resolve design, coordination and technical issues throughout project implementation • Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups and site works to ensure compliance with approved designs • Ensure all design deliverables meet project timelines, quality standards and commercial requirements • Design Team Leadership • Provide creative direction, guidance and technical support to junior and intermediate designers • Support the leadership and coordination of the design team across multiple interior fit-out projects • Coordinate and allocate design work to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are achieved • Review design deliverables and provide constructive feedback to team members • Mentor junior designers and contribute to their professional development • Maintain consistent design standards and quality across all projects • Lead or participate in internal design reviews, presentations and project discussions • Client & Project Coordination • Present design concepts, proposals and design developments confidently to clients • Understand client requirements and translate them into practical, functional and visually compelling fit-out solutions • Attend client meetings, site meetings and project coordination discussions • Coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, consultants and other project stakeholders • Manage design revisions and provide practical solutions in response to project changes • Work closely with quantity surveyors and project management teams to ensure design solutions align with budgets, programme and construction requirements • Fit-Out & Technical Coordination • Develop designs with careful consideration of constructability, materials, finishes and site conditions • Coordinate design details closely with construction and site teams • Review technical drawings and shop drawings where required • Assist in resolving site discrepancies, technical challenges and design-related construction issues • Ensure materials and finishes are appropriate for their intended application and project requirements • Support value-engineering exercises while maintaining the overall design quality and intent • Business & Design Development • Contribute to design proposals, tenders, presentations and project pitches • Research and introduce new materials, finishes, products and fit-out solutions • Keep up to date with workplace, commercial interior and fit-out trends • Support the development of innovative, practical and commercially viable design solutions • Contribute ideas and design expertise to strengthen project proposals and business development opportunities Job Requirements; • Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related discipline • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in interior design and fit-out projects • Strong portfolio demonstrating completed commercial, corporate workplace, hospitality, retail or other interior fit-out projects • Strong creative, conceptual and technical design capabilities • Proven experience taking projects from design development through site implementation and completion • Strong knowledge of interior construction, materials, finishes, detailing and buildability • Good understanding of space planning, design development and technical documentation • Strong presentation, communication and coordination skills • Proficient in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver work effectively within tight deadlines • Strong leadership potential, with the ability to guide, support and mentor junior designers • Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced design-and-build and interior fit-out environment By submitting your personal data and/or resume to us in connection with your job application, you will be deemed to have agreed and consented to us in collecting, using, retaining, and disclosing your personal data and/or resume to prospective employers for the purpose of the evaluating, processing and administration by company relating to this job application.
