Sous Chef

Sous Chef About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring food quality, consistency and smooth service. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and getting things done. What You’ll Be Doing • Support the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen • Lead and supervise the kitchen team during service • Ensure dishes are prepared and presented consistently to standard • Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness • Assist with menu development, recipe testing and new dish rollouts • Manage food preparation, mise en place and kitchen organisation • Monitor food quality, portioning and wastage • Assist with ordering, receiving and checking of ingredients • Keep track of stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients • Train and guide junior kitchen team members • Step in and take charge of the kitchen when the Head Chef is away • Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service • Identify operational issues and find practical solutions • Ensure all food safety and kitchen SOPs are followed What We’re Looking For • At least 3–5 years of kitchen experience , with experience in a senior or supervisory role • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and service • Comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment • Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and food safety standards • Organised, responsible and able to work independently • Hands-on approach with a strong attention to detail • Able to communicate clearly and work well with both kitchen and front-of-house teams • Positive attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed • Passionate about food and interested in developing dishes and improving the kitchen
