Pathologist (Chief of Department) – Private Medical Laboratory #HLY

About the Role A private medical laboratory is seeking an experienced and driven Consultant Pathologist to lead the pathology department as Chief of Department. You will oversee diagnostic services, laboratory quality, accreditation, staff management, and clinical governance while working closely with clinicians, clients, and management. Key Responsibilities: · Provide diagnostic reporting in histopathology, cytopathology, and/or clinical pathology · Lead and manage the pathology department, including pathologists, lab technologists, and support staff · Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic services · Develop and review SOPs, quality control, and quality assurance programmes · Drive laboratory accreditation and compliance(e.g. ISO 15189, CAP, or equivalent) · Oversee clinical governance, audits, incident investigations, and risk management · Manage department budget, resources, equipment, and inventory · Liaise with clinicians, hospital partners, and external clients · Support business development, new test offerings, and strategic planning · Provide teaching, training, and mentorship to laboratory staff · Participate in research and continuous improvement initiatives Requirements: · MBBS / MD or equivalent medical degree · Specialist qualification in Pathology (e.g. FRC Path, M Med Pathology, or equivalent) · Valid medical registration and specialist accreditation (e.g. SMC / SAB or equivalent) · Minimum 8 years of experience as a Consultant Pathologist · Prior leadership or departmental management experience preferred · Experience in a private medical laboratory or hospital laboratory setting · Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills · Able to commit to a full-time permanent role Interested candidates please send in your resume to: valerie@recruitexpress.com.sg EA Personnel: Valerie Yong Kian Fung CEI No.: R1103704 Recruit Express Pte Ltd, EA License No.: 99C4599
