Our client is an established company operating within the energy and commodities sector , with regional and international business activities. As part of its continued growth, the company is looking for a Compliance Executive to support its compliance framework across KYC, sanctions screening and related due diligence activities.
This role is suited to a detail-oriented compliance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment and enjoys working closely with internal stakeholders and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and customer due diligence reviews for new and existing counterparties
• Perform screening against sanctions, watchlists, PEP and adverse media databases
• Review and assess customer and counterparty information to identify potential compliance risks
• Support enhanced due diligence (EDD) for higher-risk customers and counterparties
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date KYC records and documentation
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding KYC and compliance requirements
• Assist with compliance reviews, risk assessments and periodic refreshes
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on KYC, sanctions and compliance-related matters
• Keep abreast of relevant regulatory and sanctions developments
• Support ad-hoc compliance projects and other duties as required
Requirements
• Degree or Diploma in Compliance, Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline
• Relevant experience in KYC, AML, sanctions, compliance or customer due diligence
• Experience within energy, commodities, trading, shipping, financial services or a related industry is advantageous
• Familiarity with sanctions screening, PEP checks and adverse media screening
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail
• Able to assess information critically and exercise sound judgement
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders
• Proactive, independent and comfortable working in a dynamic business environment
