EHS Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities • Assist the EHS Executive to coordinate with relevant governmental departments to ensure all safety, health and radiation requirements are in compliance with the regulations and requirements. • Conduct internal safety and health audit and follow-up for corrective action for all non-compliances identified. • Submit all relevant EHS monitoring reports timely to your superior before submitting them to the authorities. • Maintain updated reports, records and other statutory records as per retention requirements. • Support and assist the EHS Executive on Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities to support emergencies situation in the factory. • Conduct or coordinate regular training for the ERT members and ensure Fire Drill is conducted as per the required frequency and take relevant action to maintain the Fire Certificate issued by BOMBA. • Ensure all chemicals used in the company are screened before approval and maintain an updated list of all approved chemicals and the SDS. • Conduct Machine/Equipment buy-off for all new machinery or equipment’s before installation in the factory. • Conduct audit to ensure proper and correct method of using PPE at the site. • Assist in the EHS Executive on investigation of occupational accidents or near-miss cases reported. • Ensure all relevant permits for contractors are being effectively enforced and contractors working on-site comply with all EHS requirements. • Conduct EHS training as and when required. • Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time. • Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc. • Ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Cleanroom and Housekeeping guidelines Authorities : Authority to shut down any equipment or operations that can pose danger to employees or violated any relevant Law, Rules, Guideline, Standards, Regulation or Act. Education & Experience • Diploma in Engineering, Science, Quality Management or Equivalent Attended relevant environment, safety and health training recognized by DOSH, DOE, NIOSH, DAE and other relevant authorities. • 0 to 2 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing environment in EHS field (for EHS Technician). Minimum 3 years’ experience in the EHS field for Senior Technician. • Well verse with Malaysian legislation especially related to safety, health and environmental. • Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc. Skills Regulatory Compliance; Risk Management; Safety Training; Incident Investigations; Streamlining Operations; Holding safety meetings and toolbox talks with workers; Strategic Decision Making.
