Salling Search is currently recruiting for a Panamax Broker for a well-established dry bulk shipbroking firm with chartering desks spanning Singapore and China. This is an opportunity to work across two key Asian markets, handling Panamax tonnage for a firm with a strong regional network and deal flow. Responsibilities • Source and negotiate Panamax dry bulk chartering fixtures between shipowners and charterers to secure profitable deals • Build and maintain professional relationships with owners, charterers, and brokers in Singapore and China to expand business opportunities • Monitor freight market trends, vessel positions, and cargo flows to identify and capitalize on chartering opportunities • Prepare and review charter party terms, fixture recaps, and related documentation to ensure contract accuracy and compliance • Coordinate with operations teams to facilitate smooth handover of fixed vessels, ensuring operational efficiency • Provide regular market reports and insightful commentary to clients and internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making Requirements • Minimum 3 years of dry bulk broking experience with exposure to the Panamax segment to perform core brokerage functions • Established network of shipowner and charterer contacts across Singapore and China to support business development • Strong knowledge of charter party terms, freight market dynamics, and vessel operations to manage contracts and market risks • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to close deals and maintain client trust • Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Chinese charterers, owners, and counterparts • Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related field Contact Ellaine at one@sallingsearch.com for more information.
