Assistant Chemist

Job Description • Perform laboratory testing on samples, including Base, Sediment and Water (BSW), ash content, water by distillation, flash point, sediment by extraction, density and viscosity. • Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PR) for third-party testing services and laboratory consumables. • Maintain and update inventory records in the D365 system. • Support the Chemist in ad hoc and routine testing activities. • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment. • Issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) for final products in a timely and accurate manner. • Liaise with vendors for laboratory equipment and consumables. • Record and manage test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). • Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods. • Support the review and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Prepare internal training materials and support training activities. Job Requirements • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Responsible, proactive, and goal-oriented, with strong teamwork and communication skills. • Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in a related field.
