Oncology Educator

Job Responsibilities Supervise and support nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality nursing care for oncology patients within the ward. Provide clinical guidance to ward nurses to ensure the safe administration of chemotherapy and comprehensive care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT). Coordinate and schedule stem cell harvesting procedures in accordance with physicians’ orders and treatment plans. Conduct on-the-job training, clinical coaching, and in-service education programs for nursing staff. Maintain and manage the HSCT patient database and related records for the hospital. Compile, analyze, and submit reports on transplant activities, including transplant volumes, patient registries, and statistical data, to relevant authorities and stakeholders. Coordinate and oversee pre-transplant evaluations and workups for both donors and patients awaiting transplantation. Provide counseling, education, and support to inpatients and their families who are considering or preparing for HSCT. Deliver orientation and educational sessions to donors, recipients, and family members regarding the transplant process. Educate patients and caregivers on pre-transplant, peri-transplant, and post-transplant care requirements. Conduct regular patient visits during hospitalization to provide ongoing support, guidance, and care coordination. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator, Nursing Services, from time to time. Job Requirements State Registered Nurse (SRN) with a valid registration and practising certificate recognized by the Nursing Board. Possess Post Basic Certificate in Oncology Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will be an added advantage. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology, haematology, or transplant care. Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Sound knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and clinical practices. Strong counseling and patient education skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
